About The Peace Corps

The Peace Corps was established in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy to promote world peace and friendship. Since then the Peace Corps has sent more than 200,000 volunteers to countries around the world to help with a range of issues including education, environmental preservation, small business development, and healthy living, just to name a few.

The 3 goals of Peace Corps are:

1.Helping the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women.
2.Helping promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the people served.
3.Helping promote a better understanding of other people on the part of Americans.
